What Are Grand Theft Auto: Online (GTA: Online) Jobs?

Jobs are activities outside of free-mode that players can play to gain money and Reputation Points (RP) that increases Rank. Jobs are in structured matches or story missions played in either PvP or PvE. Many of these jobs can be done alone, however, some require at least two players.

Contact Missions

Missions or Contact Missions, are cooperative PvE modes similar to the main missions played out in the GTA V's single-player mode. Players online will be given a chance to accept missions through texts from contact persons like Lamar or Lester.

Races

Races are PvP game modes where players compete in driving vehicles to get to the finish line the fastest. In this mode, all players will be given rewards such as Reputation Points, Job Points, and money, regardless if players win the race or not. There are also numerous ways for players to race, not just through cars.

Race Types Description
Lap Race Lap races are races with a set track that players will have to race through two or three times. The host, however, can set the number of laps up to 99. Players with a personal best time are rewarded with Reputation Points.
Point to Point Race These races do not repeat and only go from one end to the other. Players are guided by checkpoints that show the general direction of where to go next.
GTA Race GTA races are standard races but with the inclusion of power-ups and the ability to shoot other players. Power-ups like rockets, speed boosts, and vehicle repairs can be picked up by players throughout the race. The host can choose between Lap Races and Point to Point Races. Players can also leave their current vehicle to acquire a better one.

The host can also manipulate variables like weather, time limit, and weapons, among others.

Deathmatch Type Description
Standard Deathmatch Simply known as Deathmatch, this game pits all players against each other in combat. Most maps can have up to 6 to 8 players participating at a time.
Team Deathmatch Team Deathmatch follows the same concept as the standard deathmatch with the difference being that players are grouped into teams of 2 or 3.
Vehicle Deathmatch Vehicle Deathmatch is similar to the standard deathmatch but players are put in vehicles like tanks, choppers, and jets.

Last Team Standing

Parachuting

In another form of racing, players can compete either alone or against other players. Players score differently depending on how accurate they fly through checkpoints.

Any player killed during the round will be able to spectate the wave and will respawn after the round.
